We are seeking a caring and dedicated Staff Development /Infection Control RN to join our interdisciplinary team of skilled health care professionals at our skilled nursing facility in Amityville! Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensures facility is in compliance with all infection control policies.
Develops and implements policies and procedures.
Schedules mandated in-services on an annual basis.
Secures appropriate and qualified trainers as necessary.
Prepares and updates the annual calendar of in-servicing topics.
Coordinates with all department heads to ensure employee participation at mandated in-services.
Cooperates with Unit Manager/RN Supervisor to ensure timely completion of the in-service calendar schedule.
Coordinates the orientation of all new employees to meet state and federal requirements.
Coordinates internship programs with educational institutions utilizing the facility for student's clinical experience.
Keeps records of attendance at in-services for all staff to ensure compliance with facility policies.
Qualifications include:
Currently licensed Registered Nurse in New York State.
Extensive infection control knowledge.
Strong teaching and staff development skills.
Has supervisory experience in a long-term health care setting.
Demonstrates evidence of leadership and management skills.
Has knowledge of Federal and State health regulations.
